EDGEMODDERS / EDGE PLATFORM
// The EDGE platform · for Cyberpunk 2077

Next-generation modding.

We are building EDGE, a next-generation agentic modding platform. You and an AI agent work on the same mod, with the same tools, from the first idea to a running game. Creating, testing, deploying and running a mod all happen in one open platform, instead of a dozen separate tools and manual steps.

01What EDGE gives you

EDGE is early and moving fast. Each benefit below is labelled honestly with where it stands today.

Working runs todayIn progress partly builtPlanned designed, not built
BenefitWhat it means for youStatus
Native engine, bare-metal performanceREDnode · REDbridgeNo emulation layer. REDnode is a native RED4ext plugin that draws with the game's own Direct3D 12 device, and simple rules run inside the game's hooks with no round trip. REDbridge runs WolvenKit's compiled C# engine directly. In progress
Mod isolation and crash protectionREDnodeMods and overlay apps run in their own process, outside the game. If one crashes, your game keeps running. Code that must run inside the game will be sandboxed and time-limited.Working
HTML overlay apps with a UI kitREDnodeBuild in-game windows and HUD widgets with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, styled with a ready-made UI kit. Use any web framework, browser dev tools and npm packages instead of Lua and ImGui.Working
Integrated Claude agent toolingREDagent · REDnode · REDcode · REDdeckREDagent, powered by Claude, writes, runs and fixes mods with you in a chat inside the game. REDnode, REDcode and REDdeck each offer an MCP server, so Claude Code on your PC can read mod logs, see overlay windows, call the game, edit game files and manage your mods.Working
Real-time hot-loading and live debuggingREDnode · REDcodeChange a mod and see it in the running game without a restart; hot reload works today. Next: breakpoints and evaluating code against the live game from VS Code's debugger. In progress
You approve every changeREDagent · REDdeckREDagent shows each file change as a diff and waits for Allow. Every change it makes, and every deploy REDdeck makes, has an Undo.Working
Full VS Code and extension ecosystemREDcode · REDdeckEDGE lives in VS Code, so you keep its editor, Git, themes, AI assistants and thousands of extensions, including the existing redscript tooling.Working
WolvenKit compatibleREDcode · REDbridgeOpens and builds WolvenKit projects. Game files convert to JSON and back byte for byte, using WolvenKit's own engine. Move between tools freely.Working
Game API built for agentsREDnode · REDagentA typed API that can call any game function, generated from the game's own type system, with a published reference. REDagent looks functions up and calls the running game, asking you first before anything that could change it.Working
Safe, undoable deploymentREDdeckMods deploy with a manifest of every file placed. One click undoes it. Conflicts are shown even inside mod archives, with who wins and why.Working
Open source, community firstAll toolkitsMIT where we can, GPL-3.0 where WolvenKit requires it. EDGE works alongside RED4ext, Cyber Engine Tweaks, redscript, ArchiveXL and TweakXL.Working

02The toolkits

EDGE is five open-source toolkits. Each works alone; together they cover the whole life of a mod.

03Ask REDagent

REDagent
The modding agent · powered by Claude

An assistant inside Cyberpunk 2077 that writes, runs, checks and fixes REDnode mods with you, while you play. You talk to it in a chat window drawn over the game.

  • Ask for a mod in plain words; REDagent writes it and REDnode loads it at once
  • Reads mod logs, overlay windows and the running game to check its work
  • Every file change shown as a diff first: Allow, Allow all, or Deny
  • Undo for every change, with backups kept on your PC
  • Opus for building mods, Sonnet for quick questions; each answer shows its cost

04Create with REDcode

REDcode
The editor

A Cyberpunk 2077 modding IDE built on VS Code. It brings WolvenKit's workflows into the editor, where your AI agent already works.

  • Browse the game's archives folder by folder
  • Open any game file as readable JSON, edit it, save it back
  • Texture viewer and TweakXL language support
  • Opens and packs WolvenKit projects
  • Your agent sees the same project you do

05Deploy with REDdeck

REDdeck
The mod manager

A mod manager that lives inside VS Code. One list of mods and four verbs: add, on/off, deploy, remove.

  • Add mods from zip, 7z, rar, folders or Nexus links
  • Recognises RED4ext, CET, redscript, ArchiveXL, TweakXL and REDmod
  • Hardlink deploys with a manifest; undo removes exactly what it placed
  • Shows conflicts inside mod archives, with a "let this one win" button
  • Loadouts, Vortex import, a command line and an MCP server for agents

06Build with REDbridge

REDbridge
The engine & agent bridge

The engine room. REDbridge runs WolvenKit's proven C# libraries as a local service, so EDGE never has to reinvent the game's file formats.

  • Indexes a game install and searches its archives in seconds
  • Converts game files to JSON and back, byte for byte
  • Decodes textures, resolves hashes, reads mod archives without the game
  • One API for the editor, REDdeck and AI agents (through redcode-mcp)

07Run with REDnode

REDnode
The live runtime

The runtime that puts mods in the game, and the one REDagent writes for. Script Cyberpunk 2077 in TypeScript and JavaScript with npm, and draw HTML apps on top of the game.

  • Node mods with hot reload, beside HTML overlay apps and HUD widgets
  • A UI kit in the HUD style, plus the game's own UI sounds
  • Overlay host runs outside the game, so a crash can't take it down
  • A typed game API that calls any game function, with a published reference
  • An MCP server that lets AI agents read logs, see windows and call the game
  • Coming: live debugging from VS Code
